Setting up a bundle

Created by Aaron Eustace, Modified on Wed, 6 Aug at 7:51 AM by Eva Vitoria

Overview

A bundle is a group of different products (or multiple quantities of the same product) sold together under one product code (SKU). Setting up bundles is a good way of managing inventory as the stock transactions get split down to the component product codes without having to manually transfer stock in and out of different codes.

The total amount of available stock for the bundle will automatically be the lowest number of the underlying products within that bundle.

Example 1: Bundle consists of 1 x Product A (25 units in stock) and 1 x Product B (10 units in stock) then the bundle will show an inventory amount of 10.

Example 2: Bundle consists of 4x Product C and there are 16 items of Product C in stock, the amount of available bundles will be 4.

NOTE: It is not possible to convert products to bundles

Process

It is important that the steps below are followed to setup the products properly. Customs require pricing to be included in the bundle setup for each individual product in the bundle.

Download the template linked in this article and complete the necessary information.

Column A = The parent SKU that will feed in on orders from your store front.

Column B = Bundle name

Column C = Bundle description (Can be the same as name)

Column D = Column D-Z We need the SKU for each of the children

 We need the following information:

  • The SKU of each of the individual bundle components.

A bundle of 3 individual items, all different products = 3 individual SKUs.

  • The quantity of each of the individual bundle components.

A bundle of       3 individual items, 2 of the same product & 1 different product = Quantity of 2 & 1 assigned to the respective individual SKUs.

  • The percentage of the overall value of each SKU.

Option 1 - Individual SKUs are equally priced

  1. A bundle of value €100 made up of 4 individual SKUs = 25% value per individual

SKU (€100/4).

Option 2 - Individual SKU’s have different prices

  1. A bundle of value €70.00 made up of 4 individual SKUs where:
  • Individual A = €10.00 = 10%
  • Individual B = €50.00 = 50%
  • Individual C = €10.00 = 10%
  • Individual D = €30.00 = 30%
